Interesting how negative the comments on Spring Break shut down are. College kids don’t brink enough money to make up for trashing hotels, destructive beach mobs, or gunfire induced stampedes. Also, if they can afford to blow thousands on Spring Break, they can afford to pay their student loans.

On the other hand, maybe someone like Shanahan who is connected to the tech world could use her influence to clamp down on the increasing role censorship and surveillance is playing in that realm.

Well, Shanahan it is! I guess we will all get to know her. She's young, smart and gorgeous. And a woman. And rich. Her negative is she's unknown I suppose, which maybe OK. I'm curious to know more in the upcoming weeks.

I've been thinking more about this. She is divisive, as I predicted. If she brings in the tech sector, that is HUGE, and could certainly turn around some of my friends who think of RFK, Jr. as a "kook." Unless Trump chooses someone on the younger side like Tulsi for his VP, the other two candidates will look very old and fusty and out of touch in comparison (although older people do tend to vote more).

I do think RFK, Jr. will lose some of his base over this pick-- the former Bernie supporter types, the more conservative leaning people, the regular middle class people who will be turned off by a billionaire. But he stands to gain a lot more in money for his campaign (which he needs, thanks in part to the DNC) and broader popularity and more support from powerful people. I am still rooting for him to win as I think both he and Shanahan stand to do a lot of good, but my enthusiasm is a little dimmed, I admit.

I don’t think people -collectively-would have been happy about anyone but tulsi. But she doesn’t have the money as you pointed out. -and may go w trump. I think Nicoles not exciting bc we don’t know her. I hope she charms us.

Ian Carroll posted a good video regarding his thoughts on Shanahan (he's feeling positive about her) and A Midwestern Doc and Teachers for Choice wrote nice pieces on Substack that are pro-Shanahan. Robert Malone wrote a more critical piece.

It does sound like she would be working toward "ethical" uses of tech.

As far as RFK, Jr., the fear that he will hand the election over to Trump was the reason lots of Democrats I encountered refused to sign the petition to get him on the ballot. I had been emphasizing that he could take votes away from both Biden and Trump. Although the campaign needs funds I am not a big fan of Shanahan as the pick-- not sure if a tech billionaire is a good look, especially since she doesn't appear to have any political experience. I kinda wanted the black lawyer woman who was on fire regarding the Covid restrictions, but I can't remember her name.

Love Mel K. Watched the climate documentary-- very interesting about the history of temperature change. Since I know little about this area if there is a knowledgeable rebuttal I'd like to hear it. Perhaps women are being erased because they plan to grow babies in tubes. As far as the Ireland vote, up to a few years ago, as a single woman, I would have been in favor of broadening the definition of family. Now I don't trust any of these changes and wonder about the motives behind them.

That climate video was an eye opener for me. I mean it makes sense... the scientific capture and cancellation is just what has happened in medicine too. Can't brainstorm, debate, disagree. But agree - would like to see it rebutted. I haven't found a sound argument for climate change (it just 'is'). But, why there isn't a 5 alarm on pollution (can't eat fish out of basically any river or lake in the USA!?!?)... If "they" really cared about the environment, that would be an emergency.
