Podcast: Feminism meets the red pill
Rapper/podcaster Zuby chats with Meghan Murphy, a Canadian writer and founder of the website and podcast Feminist Current. They discuss the state of modern feminism, what a woman is, finding allies in strange places, and how recent events have changed her view on some things.
So many people who call themselves feminists are not fighting for women; they’re fighting for men in fact… I think some of these women genuinely think what they are doing is good.

The meaning of Tucker Carlson
Journalist Naomi Wolf on how the media was different 30 years ago for both her and Tucker.
[Tucker] had assumed that I was the caricature of a shrieking, irrational left-wing feminist—a view for which he has had the good grace publicly to apologize—and I, for my part, was ready to accept that he must be the boorish, sexist, racist, homophobic frat boy that the progressive news outlets I read, relentlessly insisted that he was.

The media may not think we are onto them, but turns out…

NYC can wave goodbye to their gas stoves
GASSSP. Turns out banning gas stoves wasn’t a right-wing conspiracy theory. And while we love saying we told you so, we’re actually really bummed about this. Also, we’re hopeful it will be short lived like the low flush toilet craze. (Thanks no thanks Bill Clinton and GW Bush on that.)
We’ll leave you… Nellie Bowles’ (of the brilliant TGIF column) compilation of January headlines:
NYT: “No One Is Coming for Your Gas Stove Anytime Soon”
Time: “How Gas Stoves Became the Latest Right-Wing Cause in the Culture Wars”
Salon: “Rumors of a gas stove ban ignite a right-wing culture war”
MSNBC: “No, the woke mob is not coming for your gas stove.”
AP News: “FACT FOCUS: Biden administration isn’t banning gas stoves”
The Washington Post: “GOP thrusts gas stoves, Biden’s green agenda into the culture wars”
Which is why it’s so weird because just this week, New York state lawmakers banned gas stoves from all new construction. So it definitely does seem like Dems are coming for gas stoves, in that they just banned them in one of America’s most populous states.
There’s usually a slightly longer lag between when the mainstream press tells us something is a crazy lie and when the press says okay, fine, it’s not a lie, it’s actually true, and also it’s a good thing—so this is surprising. I’ll be over here huffing carbon oxides and vapors.

Hit the road, Mark: where liking tweets can land you
Likes on social media that diverge from prevailing orthodoxy could cause the president of a major medical university in Philadelphia to lose his job. The Philadelphia Inquirer launched a deep dive investigation into Dr. Mark Tykocinski’s Twitter use and found he liked posts that criticized transgender surgeries for children and the efficacy of Covid vaccines.

Bill to limit insider stock trading by Congress
We did not see this coming, but it appears that a bi-partisan bill sponsored by New York’s AOC (D, obviously) and Florida’s Brian Fitzpatrick (R) is trying to ban insider stock trading in Congress.
“When Members [of Congress] have access to classified information, we should not be trading in the stock market on it. It’s really that simple,” said the joint statement.
It really is that simple. But also, why hasn’t this been done before? And what will happen to the Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker?!
