Transhumanism dystopia novel That Hideous Strength
In the meantime, pick up Hecklers favorite transhumanism dystopia, That Hideous Strength (1945). Author C.S. Lewis was one of the earliest philosophers to ring alarm bells about the rise of scientism and transhumanism. His sci-fi novel is the story of a British society’s attempt to merge human “elites” with technology and eliminate the “dead-weight” of the masses.
While you’re at it, George Orwell’s 1984 is another classic dystopia novel, which you may know was heavily censored when published. It is the story of a totalitarianism state where Big Brother is always watching you and the opposite is true: War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength, Man is Woman. (We added one to that list — can you guess which?) Don’t miss the first modern dystopia The Iron Heel (1908) by Jack London about American oligarchy.
